Guest Policy

Guest privileges have been reinstated on the weekends. As a reminder, a guest can only visit the club once per month.Daily guests can be registered at the pool front desk.A letter of introduction addressed to the House Committee is still required for House Guests.

Players are required to wear white tennis clothes at all times, color clothing is permitted in the bubble only. Men are required to wear collared shirts. Clothing with overall patterns or stripes across the body is not permitted. All head wear must be white. Color on logo, trim and piping is acceptable on clothing and head wear.

Colored soft court shoes are now acceptable at the Bronxville Field Club (clay court appropriate treads required)

When approaching the court for which you have signed up, do so by the gate closest to it; enter as unobtrusively as possible when play is not in progress so as not to disturb other players.

Only those playing tennis are permitted inside the fence. Do not allow young children to sit, even quietly, inside the fence.

Profane language and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

While junior players are welcome to watch tennis matches being played on Court 1, they may be asked to leave if their behavior is not appropriate. Do not let young children play near or on the steps by Court 1.

Upon signing up for a tournament, do not cancel at the last minute unless absolutely unavoidable. Withdrawing from a tournament, once the draw has been completed, creates a hardship for all involved.

Do not sign up for a tournament which you cannot complete. If, because of unforeseeable circumstances, you know that you cannot advance in the tournament after you have started play, you should default to your opponent at match point, rather than defaulting to the team you are scheduled to play next. See Club Tournaments.

Summer Guests are encouraged to participate in all social tennis events. Championship tournaments are reserved for members only.

Children of members age 16 and older are permitted to play on adult teams, participate in league matches and attend team practices. Children under 16 years of age may participate in league matches on an “as needed basis” to fill a lineup spot if there are no adult members available, subject to approval of the Director of Tennis and Platform tennis or Head Squash Professional. This is policy is applicable to the Club’s platform tennis, squash and tennis teams.
All courts may be reserved up to a week in advance by calling the Pro Shop or through the online reservation system which can be accessed on the BFC website. (Refer to page 20 for reservation rules for Tenured members.)

All courts are reserved for 1-½ hour segments starting at 9:00 a.m.

Any reserved court not being used within 10 minutes after starting time will be open for reassignment.

Members can make one advanced court reservation between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and one between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Before occupying a court, members are required to sign in all players and register all guests at the Pro Shop.

Outside of Club clinics and tennis, members under 16 years of age, unless playing with at least one adult, may only reserve and play on the lower bank courts (except in the event that all the lower bank courts are reserved or in use, in which case they may play on courts 4 through 7 and 14 and 15, if available.)
Except as provided in the next paragraph, a Tenured Member may use the tennis, squash and paddle courts on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays only if the courts are available at the time of desired use and no other eligible members of the Club are waiting to use them. A Tenured Member may not compete for such facilities by making advance reservations for such days nor shall a Tenured Member be entitled to join any group eligible to make such reservations.

A Tenured Member who meets the qualifications set forth in Article III, Section 4B of the Club’s Bylaws (65 years of age or greater and 35 or more years of membership) shall be exempt from the above restrictions.
